SoccAR is my mini-capstone project developed in collaboration with a partner during my game development studies at Sheridan College. The objective of this project is to create an engaging multiplayer game specifically for the iOS/iPadOS platform with augmented reality (AR) capabilities. The game combines traditional third-person gameplay with innovative AR elements to create an immersive soccer experience.

In SoccAR, players can participate using various hardware configurations. The game supports iPhone and iPad for AR gameplay, where players use their device cameras to interact with the game environment. Alternatively, players can use a Mac or PC with a gamepad for a third-person perspective.

The gameplay involves a total of four teams, with each team having at least one human player while the remaining players are controlled by AI. Players control their characters to steal the ball from opponents, both human and AI. As players maintain control of the ball, they generate energy, which can be used to gain temporary special skills, speed boosts, or attack capabilities. The primary objective is to achieve a higher score than the opposing teams.

AI players in SoccAR are designed to behave similarly to human players, including AI goalkeepers and troublemakers that drop bombs randomly to obstruct players. The AR mode requires a table for generating the soccer stage, with players needing to move around to control the camera direction. The character always faces the same direction as the camera, and players use a virtual left stick on the screen for movement and a tap button to kick or steal the ball.

On PC, the game features a square stage with four goals in four directions. Players use the WASD keys or a gamepad left stick for movement, and the mouse or gamepad right stick for controlling the camera direction. Buttons are used to kick or steal the ball.

Overall, SoccAR aims to deliver a unique and interactive soccer gaming experience by leveraging AR technology and providing versatile gameplay options across different devices.
