My Journey in Mobile Development and Beyond

The Beginning: A Spark of Passion (2018)

My journey began in 2018 during my third year at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where I was pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. That summer, we were encouraged to find internships to gain real-world experience. Among all the fields in computer science, I chose mobile application development — a booming technology trend at the time.

With smartphones becoming an inseparable part of everyday life, I dreamed of building something different, something that could truly make people’s lives easier and better. I wanted to create apps that could touch the world.

I started my career at Deltapath Limited as an intern, where I was fortunate to meet supportive supervisors and kind colleagues. It was a nurturing environment where I could learn, grow, and lay the foundations for my professional journey — something I remain deeply grateful for even today.

Taking My First Steps as a Professional Developer (2019)

In 2019, I proudly graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Soon after, I received a return offer from Deltapath Limited, transitioning from an intern to a full-time mobile application developer.

This was an exciting period where I contributed to various projects, learned about the latest technologies, and even expanded my skills into native macOS development. Starting projects from scratch and seeing them published on the App Store was an incredible feeling. I owe a lot to my manager and colleagues, who guided me through this crucial stage of my career.

Seeking Growth and New Challenges

As I gained more experience, I realized that staying in one environment could limit my growth. Hungry for more learning opportunities and eager to work in new teams, I made the decision to move to other companies.

Eventually, I joined AAStocks.com Limited, where I work currently. Here, I learned the importance of collaboration across different departments — including product, QA, server, and multi-platform development teams. I also gained valuable project management skills, as larger teams and more complex projects required careful coordination and leadership.

These years shaped me into not just a better developer, but also a stronger team player and project coordinator.

Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone:

Moving to Canada

Despite my steady growth, a part of me still craved new horizons. I didn’t want to limit myself to just mobile development or working only in my hometown. I wanted to see if I could thrive in a completely different environment — to test my abilities on the global stage.

In pursuit of this dream, I made a life-changing decision to move to Canada and enrolled in the Game Development post-graduate program at Sheridan College.

Continuing to Learn and Grow

While settling in Canada, I continued working part-time for my previous company and spent my spare time expanding my skills. I pursued various professional certifications, including:

Meta iOS Developer Certificate

Google AI Project Management

IBM Professional Certificate in AI Specialization

And many more…

I also dived deeper into Cross-Platform Development, broadening my expertise beyond mobile apps to full-stack and front-end development.

Real-World Practice: Cross-Platform Development Projects

Recently, I began applying my new skills in real projects at work, particularly focusing on cross-platform development. These experiences showed me that the time and effort I invested in learning were truly worthwhile. Continuous learning is not just a strategy — it’s a necessity for growth.

Looking Ahead: Joining the Canadian Workforce

Now, with my skills sharpened, my experiences diversified, and my passion stronger than ever, my next goal is clear:

I want to join the Canadian tech industry.

I am ready to collaborate with large-scale teams, contribute to innovative projects, and continue growing alongside brilliant minds.

Hello World!
